A dusk walk through the oldest lanes in Lisbon and a table at a fado house the guides go to themselves.
Alfama after the day-trippers leave: the miradouro at Santa Luzia for the last light, the lanes the tram cannot reach, a glass of ginjinha from a hatch, and then a small fado house with a dinner of grilled sardines or bacalhau and two singers who will ask for silence and get it.
The walk is steep in places and cobbled everywhere. The dinner seats twelve.
