Down the Overseas Highway to the end of the road, six hours in Key West and back for a late dinner.
The bridges are the point of the drive: forty-two of them, the Seven Mile in the middle, water on both sides the whole way. The coach leaves early, stops at Islamorada for coffee and the tarpon feeding, and drops you on Duval Street by eleven.
Six hours is enough for the Hemingway house, a conch fritter on the harbour, the Southernmost Point queue and the sunset celebration at Mallory Square. The guide stays with the coach for anyone who wants a plan; everyone else is on their own until the 18:30 pick-up.
