Sunflower Beach Resort opened in 1974 on the quiet north end of Collins Avenue and was rebuilt from the ground up in 2019, keeping the original Art Deco facade. Every room looks onto the ocean or the palm garden, and the rooftop pool stays open until midnight.
The beach
Guests have direct access to a private stretch of sand two blocks from the boardwalk. Loungers and shade are included in every rate, and paddleboards and kayaks can be hired from the beach hut.
The kitchen
The restaurant runs a seafood-led menu with produce from the Lincoln Road growers market. Breakfast is cooked to order and served on the terrace until 11:00; dinner is by reservation from 18:00.
The spa
Treatments run until 21:00 daily, with a hot tub and a small fitness room beside the garden wing. Evening yoga on the roof is free for guests.
Getting here
Miami International Airport is 25 minutes by car. Airport transfers, valet parking and bike hire can all be arranged at the front desk, and the resort is on the Collins Avenue trolley route.
